Dr. Takano earned his Doctor of Dental Science degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry at the Oklahoma University Health Science Center in 1985. He received additional general practice training from the Kobe Medical Hospital in Kobe, Japan.

Dr. Takano specializes in implant dentistry and has received post graduate training in Gothenburg, Sweden, the Medical University of South Carolina, and the Brookdale Hospital Medical Center. He is trained in numerous surgical implant systems. Board certified in Pediatric Conscious Sedation.

He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Oklahoma Dental Association, the Cleveland County Dental Association, the Academy of Osseointegration, the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

Also he is on the medical staff at the J.D. McCarty Center for Children with Developmental Disabilities.
